On Friday, when I went to the mall to get Amelia's portraits done at Sears, they had a special for 50% off Santa pictures, so I figured what the hay. Amelia loved Santa.
The portraits came out wonderfully. I have to go back this week and order prints, because I was too broke to pay for them at the time. My mom is going to give me money to buy them. Cha-ching.
Here's an action shot of Amelia's obsession with the corner of the high chair.

Also displaying the lovely waves that are starting to emerge in her hair. I love that baby!
On Monday, my cousin brought over the couch from my grandma's house. She was getting new living room furniture, so her garbage was my treasure. I mean, it's in decent shape, but it's pretty ugly. I'm looking into getting a couch cover asap, but since my grandma is coming to visit on Friday, I figured I'd wait until after that, because I don't want to hurt her feelings (and since this is the first time she's ever come to visit any of my homes in the almost 7 years I've been on my own, I'm pretty sure this will be her first and only visit).
I've been attempting to hang my paintings/pictures/mirrors/curtains up today, but Amelia's fussy-butting is not conducive to getting shit done. She's happy when I'm holding her, but screams when I put her down. Usually, she's content to sit and play where ever, but I think these fuckin teeth are bothering her.
Can I also say that trying to type with a 6 month old reaching out to get the keyboard is not easy?
Here's a HI! from Amelia:

She thinks all things are hers now. Better get used to that, right?
I'm getting her Christmas portraits done tomorrow at 11. I'm hoping that they will be timely, because once afternoon hits, she starts to get the fussies. Also, I hope the dress still fits (it's 3-6months).

My new journal, add me, add me, add me.
If you don't want to let me know so I don't add you when you don't want to be added.
I'm removing everyone from this list gradually.
So Wednesday night we had Thanksgiving dinner at my cousin's house. It was lots of fun and Amelia was a very good girl. My family is so full of strong women, it's super encouraging. I wish I would have gotten around to taking pictures, but it's always so hard to whip out the camera while taking care of the baby. And any time I got when she wasn't in my lap, I was trying to have a good time. Not that I don't like taking pictures of my girl, but...whatever, lame tangent anyway.
I didn't get home from my cousin's until 10 and Amelia was wired. She was up until midnight playing. You would think I would get a break the next morning, but no. She woke up at her normal 8am (I know, I know, most babies wake up much earlier than that, I shouldn't complain).
Yesterday, I went to Thanksgiving lunch at my boyfriend's aunt's house with a bunch of his family. It was awkward, mainly because Doug sucks at introducing and I was too uncomfortable to introduce myself. The food was delicious, though. And again, Amelia was a good girl. Everyone was most impressed with how pretty/well behaved my child was.
After lunch yesterday, Amelia and I came home and took a nap. I woke up, and she stayed sleeping. Actually, she woke up to eat and went back to sleep. She got a super long nap, probably because of the shortened amount of sleep from the previous night. And she went to bed on time and slept through the night. My big sleeper.
Anyway, here's some pictures and a video from Thanksgiving morning, although they are not Thanksgiving themed whatsoever.

Amelia needs a nap something fierce. She is sabotaging herself by pulling the pacifier out of her mouth, which is pretty typical for her. The kid does not like to sleep. I think she's afraid to miss something.
